A Community Christmas

A Community Christmas

Get Involved

There are many ways you can support A Community Christmas! Generous donations of time and money from community members, businesses, the US Marine Toys for Tots program and foundations allow us to bring cheer during the holiday season.

Please check out the available opportunities below and reach out to us at 330-454-3841 if you have any questions. Thank you for helping us make Christmas merrier!

Make a Monetary Donation

Monetary donations are used to purchase food vouchers, teen gift cards, hats, gloves and taxable items such as paper products, toiletries and cleaning supplies to give to families that qualify for the Christmas Giving Center. Toys are generously provided by the US Marine Toys for Tots program.

Please consider making a donation to help us supply these gifts. Memorial contributions are also accepted; special envelopes are available for this. For more information, please call our office at (330)-454-3841.

Volunteer

Volunteers are an integral part of our Christmas Giving Center at the Stark County Fairgrounds. Volunteers will:

  • Help unload and organize toys, books, clothing and taxable items
  • Compile toys and gifts for clients
  • Help clients pick up their gifts at the Giving Center site

To sign up to volunteer click here or for more information, please call our office at 330-454-3841.

Adopt a Family

Do you want to adopt a family this holiday season? Adopting a family allows you to provide families with the gifts and items they need the most.

How do I apply to adopt a family?
If you would like to adopt a family, please print out the Request Form and mail it to our office by Nov. 15.

  • We keep the names of donors and recipients anonymous to ensure the confidentiality of all individuals involved.
  •  We will match you with any size family you request.

What do I do after applying?
Once you mail in your request form, a packet will be sent to you with guidelines about the program. It will include a client information sheet with suggested items that are needed and the sizes for your family.  A tax deductible form is also included.

How do I prepare the gifts for the family?

  • Gifts should be new. All gifts should be wrapped and labeled with a name tag. Gifts are then consolidated into a large box and labeled with an Adopt-A-Family form.
  • Please supply a gift card to any local grocery store for perishable items for their Christmas dinner. Non-perishable items, taxable paper products and cleaning supplies are always greatly appreciated.

Where do I drop the gifts off?
Gifts need to be dropped off at the Southeast Community Center at 1400 Sherrick Rd. SE, Canton on Tuesday, December 5th from 7:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M.
