A Community Christmas

A Community Christmas A Non-Profit Organization

What We Do

Goals and Purposes

A Community Christmas is a volunteer organization that coordinates the efforts of the community to provide Christmas assistance and eliminate duplication of services for needy individuals and families residing in Stark County. Each year nearly 2,700 Stark County families/individuals need and seek help through our program. Through the generosity of our local citizens and businesses, we are able to assist these families and individuals. ACC is a non-profit organization and all donations are tax exempt. All who apply for assistance receive some form of help through one or more of our programs. We, as an organization, are very fortunate to have loyal volunteers and donors who willingly give of their time, monetary contributions and donations.

Who do we help?

Clients are interviewed by trained volunteers in a process called Intake. A case sheet is filled out by the volunteer who interviews the client face to face. ACC offices notify the public of the dates for intake via poster, letters, the web and publicity. Our volunteers conduct Intake for two weeks in November for the general public. The completed case sheets are evaluated by a confidential committee to determine from which program the client will receive assistance. Everyone who applies receives some type of help.

Cross Check

Anyone, be it individual or agency, providing holiday assistance and not receiving the client’s name from ACC, is requested to submit their client’s name to us for a cross check. These names will be checked against the case sheets from intake and other lists turned in. The list of clients is confidential and not released for public information.

*Volunteers are not needed for the cross check as it is confidential and handled by the ACC office.
